How does SSL work?

In order to have SSL activated, you must have already purchased an SSL certificate for your website. The certificate will contain all the neccesary information needed to encrypt and decrypt the data. Once you have purchased the certificate, it will then need to be installed on the server. Please note that a certificate is only valid for one domain name.
